"Adrift, 2011" Receives International Award, Published Internationally in "B&W + Color" Special Issue #90

This past spring, the Special Issue #90 of B&W + Color featuring the 2012 Color Single Image Competition Awards showcased my photograph Adrift, 2011.

Of the 300 international artists that submitted over 1,900 photographs for the competition, Adrift, 2011 was selected for a Merit Award.

Published in 60 countries, B&W + Color is a prestigious photographic journal featuring black and white and, beginning recently, color fine art photography from international artists.

Last winter, Darkroom Gallery in Essex Junction, Vermont, displayed two of my photographs, Adrift, 2011 and Storm, Sandoval County, New Mexico, 2009, in their exhibit Four Corners of the Earth, juried by George DeWolfe, where Adrift, 2011 was selected as the Viewers' Choice Award.

Adrift, 2011, photographed at Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center in Orange, Texas.

Reminiscent of an impressionist painting and invoking a romantic mood, Adrift, 2011 is a surrealist and dream-like color photograph that captures the reflection of cypress trees in a pond containing floating leaves.

A limited edition print of Adrift, 2011, framed by international award-winning fine art framers John and Phyliss Nazworth, can be viewed and is available for purchase at Pinehurst Gallery in Orange, Texas.

Pinehurst Gallery and Custom Picture Framing (409-882-9008) is located at 2498 Martin Luther King, Suite C, in Orange, Texas.  The gallery is open Tuesday-Friday, 10am-5pm, and Saturday, 10 am-2pm.
